Most tests are part of a wider assessment. See our safety assessment services for how test results feed into initial assessments, DEA and corrective action plans.
A structural safety assessment or DEA usually combines rebar scanning, rebound hammer and UPV tests across many members, core tests at selected locations to measure actual concrete strength, and confirmatory soil tests. The engineer chooses the number and location of tests from the building's size, condition and drawings.
Non-destructive tests such as rebound hammer, UPV and rebar scanning leave the structure untouched and can be repeated over large areas. Semi-destructive tests such as core tests remove a small sample, which is then repaired, and give a direct strength result that is used to calibrate the non-destructive readings.
Factories commonly need thermography of panels and connections, cable insulation resistance tests, earth resistance tests of the earthing and lightning protection system, and, where they own transformers, transformer oil tests. These tests also feed into an electrical safety assessment.
Yes. We carry out lift inspection and lift load tests, crane load tests and inspection of lifting equipment, boiler hydraulic tests and hydraulic pressure testing of air receivers, and issue a report for your compliance records.
Send us the building or equipment details, the tests you need (or the purpose, such as a buyer audit or DEA) and the site location. Prices depend on the number of tests, access and laboratory work, so we confirm the scope first and then send a written quotation.
